When American scientists made a drink from strawberries or spinach and gave it to their colleagues, the levels of antioxidants in the blood of those test volunteers rose by 15% within two and a half hours. This corresponds to the effect of 1250 mg of vitamin C. In normal circumstances, outside of periods of virus spread, adults need 75 mg of vitamin C per day. The maximum safe amount is set at 2000 mg per day. So if you drink the smoothie I recommend below, you don’t need a vitamin C supplement. If you have chosen to eat healthily by increasing your overall intake of raw vegetables and fresh fruits, you will undoubtedly get more than enough of that vitamin. In that case, the vitamin C supplement is no longer safe because you never know when you cross the safe limit.

The effect described above can be achieved when you mix 9 oz (250 g) fresh strawberries, blueberries or raspberries and 5 oz (150 g) fresh spinach. Note that vitamin C is lost through exposure to oxygen. Therefore, drink it right away, but slowly with sips.
